Thanks again for the scrapped princess action figure.

-Still confused on how my two LETTER BOXED videos... were cropped and stretched out..really made the quality bad... ~_~
-The turn out for some categories were very weak, hmm I was pleased with action though
Edit: pleased with action category..excluding one video.. >>
they were 4:3 letter boxed going to a 16:9 screen. I removed the letter boxing to maximize the screen otherwise your video would have been tiny on the screen (comparitively) and you would instead be annoyed at me for them being so tiny on the screen. I erred on the side of impact..

The contest is weak and people aren't happy about that. I'm not talking about the editors that are posting on this thread either. I'm talking about the fans. People that you meet in the halls or even the one we met at the airport.

"The contest has been getting worse for the past 3 years. This year was slightly better but not much of an exception." That was from a random person I met in the airport while waiting for our wonderfully delayed plane.

In short, I'm focusing my efforts on fixing up the panels and working with KagatoAMV on both the AMV 101 panel and the Iron Chef since this contest doesn't seem to care about progression or putting on an excellent competition for the editors.

Good luck to all those involved and may god have mercy on your souls. |:>

Wow the corpse isn't even cold, and you are already assuming I have written you off? I am genuinely sorry you feel that way. It's not true.

The next several weeks are going to be filled with me working to wrap up this years contest and the con as a whole (AMVs aren't my only responsibility at con though by far my favorite of them).

I guess there is no pleasing some people. All apparent bitterness you are harboring aside (for reasons I don't begin to understand). My inability to sit down and have extended dialogs with you on these topics while at con were not out of a desire to ignore you or to blow you off. It was the fact that I was literally massively busy at con. So busy I was late to the AMV panel to distribute tix. I was originally slated to be an actual participant in said panel. I enjoy that panel alot. BUT other fires had to be dealt with first.

The suggestions you have made thus far have some merit and will be considered in preparation for next years contest. I apologize if I was unable to snap my fingers and make everything happen immediately to your satisfaction. The suggestions made so far were too late to be integrated or considered for this years event.

Please, feel free to list your suggestions, recapping the ones you already made if you so desire, and email them to me. michaelunderwood@spja.org and I will definitely review them and where possible, reasonable, warranted apply what I can.

The request for input on how to improve goes out to all of you. Not just Yue. If you have suggestions on how to improve the contest beyond simply saying "Make it not suck". Please, I sincerely want you to send them to me at the above email address. All suggestions will be read and considered. I want this to be the best contest it can be for ALL. Editors and fans.

My videos didn't make the pre-show at the Nokia, but it looks like different videos were played before the re-show and awards.
Well the ones shown before the re-screen were also queued on the fly. I didn't get to make a formal Pre-show render this time around. I hope to rectify that next year. The DBZ Tenacious D vid was one of this years entries that didn't make finals.

I don't remember all the ones I played since it was literally queued as I was sitting there.

Also, I liked the preshow vids [15 Minute Phonecall <3]
Aww, thank you. Out of the four videos I submitted to AX this year, '15 Minute Phone Call' was by far my favorite and most effort-invested AMV. I was hoping it would make the finals and therefore get played in the Nokia, but it didn't, which is why it's understandable that I shat bricks when it started playing in the pre-show. That alone was a great feeling of relief and warmth and fuzzy rainbow giggles, but seeing people react to it and like it is what makes this all worthwhile.Oh, and my action video too.... *cough*

I've got to start working on videos for next year. I think the time for me to aquire 'After Effects' is finally at hand.

Good shit with "15 minute Phonecall" dude, really well done. I didnt think that was an actual cover of the old song, i just thought it was some modified jingle.

Ok thanks Michael. I got a recent message that someone might have seen my Ippo/Rocky video during AX and I assume it may have been shown during the awards preshow. The last time it was shown at AX was at the Nokia preshow in 2008.
