Not really, given the events of 2008 AMV Contest (where the debut of the trailer category ended up getting pulled after the first showing).
Why? O.o What happened?

I think its because the trailer used the official "Approved for all audiences" screen you see with real trailers and that is actually copyrighted as well. Same reason why most amv contests don't allow clips that have audio from American voice actors in it, cause it can potentially lead to legal problems if I guest spots it.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....

Not to mention that one of the trailers that year included the Warner Bros. logo at the beginning of the video.

Ahhh, okay, that makes sense. Kinda glad I was too lazy to do that "Approve for all..." screen. Either way the screening was today so I guess we'll find out soon who made it and who didn't.

It will be a couple weeks at least (due in part to the need for a lawyer to review the selected videos).

It's ok if it's a parody of the MPAA approval screen, like I had on mine last year -

It won't be that long, the con is in a couple of weeks. I'd guess the finalists will be announced in about 2 weeks. I was at the pre-screener yesterday and there are plenty of good videos for the contest this year. Although the crowd favorite is too dirty for screening. Darkest of places anyone?

So the week before the con? Ahhh...XD Ah well, I gotta work on cosplay anyway, maybe that'll help me wait. I wish I could of gone to the screening to see if people enjoyed mine, as I really hope people do enjoy it, but I had work all day.

Oh, really? Hmmm...well I think the one I submitted was better without a trailer, but for future reference that is good to know, thanks! =)

The Pre-screening was fun. I was more of a "trippin ballz" fan myself. Good luck everyone!
