As for the new list, congrats to Rider and GTC. It's great to see how well BTaing acted in this situation and that everything is pretty much good now.
I'm still very interested in seeing Castor's and Niotex's vids, though.

Nah, just really bent and twisted. You just keep finding all the high spots.Niotex wrote:You're not setting the bar very high there VladVlad G Pohnert wrote:I think we should create a secret society that meets deep in the bowels of the Earth whose members do nothing but judge AMVs for contests... In between they can put their minds together and work on world domination or else eliminate all those that argue the judges results.... and if you want, Xstylus, you can be the societies minister of quality control as you'll get to torture those that get out of line... Oh, and all members can also wear those cool anime hats too and Rider4Z can be the appointed social coordinator… so there![]()

I think that is a great idea. Part of the problem is that 98% if not 99% of all the entries don't get mailed till the very last possible minute. So resubmission is impossible. Most entrants wait down to the wire to send. be it procrastination, lazieness, anxiety, whatever. If you wait till the last possible minute to submit and get DQ'd for tech the you are sol till next year. I sincerely wish more people would submit early enough to have resubmit time. I think that would have helped a couple of the vids this year.Ileia wrote:
That being said, I do agree with cutting videos that don't stand up to the quality standards. If you did something wrong, learn how to fix it. I see a lot of people posting in contest threads when they have videos disqualified for the technical aspect of it, so there is an obvious willingness to learn how to correct it. I have seen a few contest rules that link to the guides here and I think that is an awesome idea that I'd like to see more often. Just add a little link to the DQ e-mail. "Your video was disqualified due to _____. Here is a guide that can help you fix the problem so that you can resubmit."* It'll help them help themselves and keep the quality of the contest higher.
For the record...4 days before the deadline is not what I would consider in enough time. I am thinking more like a month before.
