Sac Anime 2010 AMV Rules
Hey folks
Sac Anime is again hosting its own AMV contest
And since im a bit crazy Im hosting this event 1 week before I run Nan Desu Kan's AMV contest so we have put in a system if you wish to submit your video to both shows you can do it with one submission.
Thanks for your support.
Welcome to the Sac Anime AMV Contest. Please be sure to read through all of these rules before submitting your video. A few important things to keep in mind, please remember that submitting a video is not a right. We will be attempting to show all videos submitted, however if we receive more videos than time allows we will have a panel of judges decide which videos are shown. Also keep in mind that we are aware that some mistakes can be made, both on the editor’s end and our own. If any mistakes are made on either end, we have given ourselves enough time to be able to work with you to correct any such mistakes before the con begins.
So now onto the rules!
# You may send up to 3 videos to this contest.
# All videos may not have been submitted to any prior Sac Anime AMV event.
# There is no set time limit for length of any video
# Videos may not include any scenes of extreme graphic or sexual content. We do understand that this is an anime con, and some artistic content will be permitted, but the judging staff reserves the right to disqualify any video they deem in poor taste.
# Specific times and dates for AMV events will be announced at a later date.
# Sac Anime AMV staff reserves the right to make changes to these rules as we see fit at any time.
Submission Due Date
All videos must be in the hands of the AMV Staff by midnight, August 22nd, 2010. If for some reason you cannot make this deadline, you must make prior arrangements with the AMV staff before this date or your entry will not qualify.
Judging and awards
We will be handing out awards for Audience favorite and second and third place choices.
The audience will vote by ballot for their favorite video. Winners will be decided by total number of votes.
Editors do not need to be present at the con in order to win or receive an award.
Title Bumpers
Please do not include title bumpers to your videos. Title bumpers are defined as anything before or after the video itself that says what the video is, or who made it. We will be adding uniform title bumpers to each video shown in the contest. If your video is submitted with a title bumper, the Sac Anime AMV staff reserves the right to edit out the bumper to comply with our standards. We have a tremendous amount of experience in this matter so there is little room to worry, but it is best that you make these cuts yourself rather than have us do it.
Submissions
All video submissions must be accompanied with appropriate video and editor contact information. Failure to providing full information can lead to disqualification of one or all of your videos. Please provide the following information.
# Editor Name
# Studio or Surname
# Mailing address
# E-mail address
Also for each video provide the following information:
# Title of the Video
# Name of the music or audio artist
# Title of the music or audio
# Name of footage used (if over 3 sources it is ideal to list as various)
There are two methods in which you may send in your entries:
You may submit your entries on-line by our upload site at. http://dropbox.yousendit.com/ScottPeterson1093358 You will also need to send an email with all your contact info and video info to sacanimeamv@gmail.com
The second way to submit a video is if you have submitted your video to the 2010 Nan Desu Kan AMV contest, we have all your video information on file and you simply need to say that you also want your video in the Sac Anime contest. http://ndkdenver.org/activities/amvs/submit
You MUST send an email to sacanimeamv@gmail.com to do this.
Video Formats
We would prefer that your file arrives as either a MPEG or AVI. If you choose to select a format that is different from the two listed please send us an e-mail at sacanimeamv@gmail.com to confirm that it will work with our system. Yes we can convert several types of formats such as .WMV and others, but we prefer that you handle the conversion yourself so you are happy with the quality output. We have a lot of hard drive space available and would rather sacrifice size over quality, so please do not be afraid to send us the best quality video you have, we are projecting on large screens and we want your video to look as good as much as you do.
Please, however, do not submit any videos that include subtitles or other logos, not associated with the video. (Example: Cartoon Network logo, or subtitles from a fansub) If you make a subtitle or logo yourself that serves a purposeful use on the video that is fine.
Also, please if possible, have the video name written in the file name when submitting a video. We take a great deal of care to match up the correct video with the correct editor, but with over a hundred entries, it can be hard to distinguish files when they all read (narutoAMV.mpg) or (FFXvid.avi)
Be aware that history has shown that a majority of videos will come in the last week leading into the deadline, as a result it becomes more difficult to confirm each video as it comes in as we prep the entire event.
If you have any questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact the AMV staff at anytime so that we may assist you. Also please keep an eye on the Sac Anime forums as some questions are answered there, it is also a good place to keep up to date on changes and updates regarding the event.
Thank you for your valued support of this event, and good luck to all.
