Tragedy Scenes

So Im planning to do a short but powerful AMV so i need lots of good tragedy scenes.
ex. lover dies, leaving friend forever, funeral, last person alive, tragic death (drowning). you know the painful, depressing hard to watch stuff. nothing to extreme though i want it to be emotional not violent.

also bonus points if someone can tell me where i can get a 'total world destruction with one lone soul left' scene

Blood+ eps 6 (it's not all bloody, the goodbye scene is pretty heart wrenching), also 24, 27 - 29, 32, 45 (I cried ), 49.
It's a pretty sad show.

"Tales Of The Abyss" somewhere around episode 12 maybe but:

The main character ends up destroying an entire city and it is pretty sad after that where his friends are rejecting him for it.

There are also numerous other points of scenes that people may find sad if you watch the whole series. Not saying you do.

Sakura dies.

"Rozen Maiden" should have some good scenes in it though.

"Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni and Kai" would have tragic scenes because of all the killing done to somewhat very young teenagers.

"Zero No Tsukaima-Futatsuki No Kishi"

Saito dies in the last episode and for the duration, it is fairly sad until the very end.
