Custom Org Profiles?

As everyone who has a youtube knows, the youtube channels have custom settings and one of those settings is a custom background. Youtubers can make backgrounds in photoshop, paint, or w/e and create templates for their channel...

I was wondering... wouldn't it be cool if the org had something similar? We could make our own backgrounds for our profiles, or have custom layouts...something interesting to make some of the profiles more visually artistic.

We already have the picture you can put on the profile...i think it'd be cool to see some layouts to go with the picture too!

We could even send each other layouts and talk about other design ideas too, which would add another level of interaction between amv creators o:

I think it would be something neat for the community to do when they're tired from amv making, kind of like the logo contest, or the banner contest.

No. Half the youtube profiles I've seen that do custom profiles make it absolutely horrible and use unreadable crap like dark blue text on grey/black background. Geocities is dead, we don't need to revive the horrible website designs it had. If you must customize, go hog wild with your profile picture.

This has been brought up many times before.. and I'm still on the side of site skins or at the least have profile color templates we can choose from... However I'm against all out customization for the reasons mentioned... I'd like to be able to read a profile. Myspace, Gaiaonline, and Youtube's formats give too much freedom that it's easily abused.

I agree with this on some levels. Myspace and youtube can be ugly, your right. But look at people like strawberrykiss, or hell, even MY layout. Very artistic looking.

Agreed. I dont think org should become the next myspace, but a few customizations wud be nice. Maybe a voting system could be applied, like with the banners.

That would actually be kinda cool.. but I don't think it really matters cause you're gonna be on their profiles for a few minutes (unless you're gonna be staring at their profile for some reason.) It's not like yt where you comment, start a convo, and then go back to their profile many times.

I don't get why the fuck some people make their profiles like that, you LITERALLY can't see a thing and have to waste time highlighting the whole page.
