Screw that. Black Market AMVs would be where all the real money is at.

Re: What if AMVs were made legal?
I would love to make amvs for someone, but i dont do well with requests and id probably make really shitty amvs if i was given money to make an amv under strict guidelines.
Also, i did a paper on downloading music and pretty much all the sources i found said that the DMCA is definitely going to be dead at some point due to internet downloading and out-of-date copyright laws. This means things are gonna get re-written one day and hey, who knows, maybe they'll shove amvs in there somehow

Then that guitar thingies popped up and went dun dun DUN dun then those box thingies went zooming by and twirling around and shit. Oh god, then the hexagons popped up and I was like 'I just got a stiffie'. Then there was the circle with those thingies going around and I blew my load.

You know as well as any of us that fair use isn't an affirmative defense. We're in guilty until proven innocent territory here. You're in worse shape though - no fair use in nihongoland.Kionon wrote:I dunno what you are talking about. I claim fair use as the basis for all my actions. I feel I'm quite within the legality. It would be nice if AMVs were legal, but I don't really see that happening until the generation that grew up with them is running things. A lot of old business models are dying slow tortuous deaths because the greedy dinosaurs running them just don't get it.

Re: What if AMVs were made legal?
i didn't even think about it as a market, and idk y not xD
AMV theatres?
if we had to buy amvs like anime on dvd, i'm almost certain we'd do ourselves in...piracy and junk, but i don't know how else there'd be a market...
that's where the legalization of WEED has an advantage...
