That's what I had been planning, yes.

Edit:
Although I think a-m-v.com would be rather pointless, considering nobody uses dashes in URLs.
It'd be easier to just have animemusicvideos.org.

Although IIRC a-m-v.org exists and is a redirect and has been for some time, I've never used it.

funny, I ALWAYS use a-m-v.org, since I hate typing more than necessary. Especially when it could lead to typos. I am a freak about the internet, I add every filter known to man to AdBlock Plus and if a single typo site pops up I fucking go nuts. Probably my OCD. Then again, I'm the same guy that runs a virus scan only once a year with multiple antivirus programs and finds NOTHING, then loads up Spybot and finds NOTHING. O:

I stick around because there is no such thing as retirement if you really love something. The dynamic is definitely different now though. From age 13-19, AMVs were THE most important thing in my life. AMVs allowed me to grow into myself and helped me realize that I was an artist, not a clerk at Blockbuster Video.

I still enjoy watching the classics, but I haven't seen any new creators that spark my interest in a long time, and yes that means all you new french fags with your trapcode shine.

hay now, I'm bi and I find this offensive. there is no such thing as choice. There is the governators, and the governmentalified, both choose nothing.

I'm fairly new to the org, only joined last year, but I've been lurking since awhile ago. I knew about the org before I knew about yt. I haven't been editing as long as other people, but as a newbie growing up, I still notice the same people who inspired me years ago.

I have a lot of fun posting in the forums, though I haven't really talked one-on-one with many of the editors around here. It's much easier to strike up a conversation on yt, but I'm still more attracted to the org because people don't just make one hour videos and say "check it, I did this in an hour cuz I was bored." I like that it's taken more "seriously" around here, and how everyone is part of a "community." You don't get that around yt.

I think the reason it seems to be 'dying' is that it's all moving to yt. Yt is a more carefree site, where you can talk about anything. But the org is primarily all about amvs, unless you donate and have access to the donator's forum or you visit #amv-irc. You post in the announcements thread-- almost automatic you'll get some crit. Upload your vid to yt-- you'll get a "liek omg, that was great!!! 5/5." I think those on the org are much more likely to edit longer than those on yt because of this.

Sorry to break up the discussion, but I got a reply on animemusicvideos.com.
My email to the owner basically said "I was wondering if I could buy this or get you to forward your domain to the .org out of kindness" (but better worded).
Her response is this:
Wow, I haven't gotten an email about that domain in a long time.

The reason why I don't forward the domain is simple: I have my own plans for the domain. I've had this domain since... early 2000? I got it because back in the day I used to host an FTP site with about 20 GB of amvs and I got the domain for it. It has had different iterations but is currently dead (and has been dead for at least 4-5 years). I've got something I've been working on in the background planned for the site, it just isn't anywhere near ready.

As for buying the domain: I'm not really willing to sell. It has sentimental value to me. Someone once tossed me a number of 10k and I wasn't willing to part with it for that, so you'd be hard pressed to get me interested. Sorry.
So I guess that's never happening.
Oh well.

Ehh.... Honestly I'm unwilling to deal with Sedo.
I'm not paying $100+ for a domain.
