They download it because they think its what they definitely need to make music videos even if they know nothing about digital video at all. Thats how I was at first but then I realized I needed some in-depth knowledge of video to actually get anywhere worthwhile and so I spend a few months becoming a l33t encoder instead of just an amv creator.
really the best advice to n00bs is that they need to spend time reading up on the subject of interest and learn the skills needed before they can realistically get anywhere.

Look at me, I downloaded it off of Kazaa, and look where *I've* gotten to.
And when I started editing, I had no knowledge of digital video except the basics. (Eg. what DivX was, how to encode a basic file in VDub/Windows Media Encoder, etc.)

That out of around 4 thousand members, not even HALF of them have made a video??

Possibly a fourth.

Now, why are people joing a-m-v.org if they're not DOING anything? I was browsing this website for atleast a month before I joined. I made sure that if I was going to join, I wanted to have a music video.

So, why DO these people join? I could understand if SOME of them haven't finished their first yet, but that can't be the case for 3 THOUSAND(ish) of them! Right?

So do they only join because they feel like it? Because they want to post something in the forum and insult everyone who makes AMVs because they can't make one themselves and want to appear "too good to make AMVs"?

I wish I knew. . .

((Did you also know that OhMyBelldandy009 has no AMVs coming? Not even planned? Did you take a look at her profile?? That ONE SENTENCE sure tells us a LOT.[that makes sense two ways. . .hmm. uhhh... there's actually around 40,000 members, not 4,000. And about 35,000 of them are idle. And please do not make this a multi-topic flame war. She said 3 words and they got you THIS pissed?

Oh ya, did you know OhMyBelldandy009 has another member name too? That's the one she use for vids, profile and Journals. She said she is unable to post in the forum with that one, so she made another one for the prupose of posting. Make sense? There ya go.

I made a musiv video with no knowledge at all of this site. When my friend that started making them at the same time said hey, I just came across this awomse site that will get or videos watched, I joined. So it does seem kinda screwed up to me that so many would join and do nothing. I'm not about to point fingers because I'm weel aware of second handles, but there are thousands that didn't ever do anything. There are also hundreds of members that are not idle and do nothing, if not still thousands.
