Re: The new Doktor
It's so wrong that The Doctor is played by someone younger than me!
But all things considered, so far I like him. I've been a fan since I was 7 years old, grew up watching John Pertwee, Tom Baker, and Peter Davidson. As far as new doctors go, Tennant is definitely the best. As for where this guy stacks up, I am still not convinced.
Excited to see Daleks again, even though it seems weird how they keep coming back after such crushing defeats last couple seasons. I knew we hadn't seen the last of them realistically, but it seemed like the writers wanted to kill them off.

They were one of my favourite creature creations so far! Although I'm worried about them being used again. The episode Blink was perfect on it's own, it doesn't need more >.>Nessephanie wrote:Me too!! I saw them and was all ';__________; creeeeeeepy!'Ileia wrote:Whaaaa? More crying angels!? Okay finally watched the two eps. Suprised to say that the new guy has grown on me. I really didn't like him from any of the interviews I'd seen. He didn't seem to have the personality for it and plus he just looks weird. But he definitely nailed his character in the first episode. The perfect transition from Tennant as he kept a couple of the mannerisms throughout the episode while introducing a few of his own.
I'm also liking the new feel. The visuals look more crisp and it has a more cinematic feel to it (or am I the only one who felt like this?)
I'm really interested to see how he progresses throughout this series, particularly after seeing the "what's to come" at the end of the episode. Looks to be an epic season with some epic Doctor.
... That said, no one will ever top Tennant in my book. Tennant, Davison, Baker.

Yes, when they came out, I was imagining an apple commercial. "The New iDalek! In multiple colors so you can exterminate in style!"BasharOfTheAges wrote:The new Daleks are quite... colorful.

Re: The new Doktor
As some might've heard, been watching Doctor Who with Kisanzi
I haven't seen the 3rd and 4th season yet (stopped right at the end of the 2nd season when I was watching by myself) and we just finished "The Girl in the Fireplace" from season 2.
Now personally, I loved Eccleston as the doctor. Tennant is fun and all, but I was never a major fan...but Matt...wow...
So far, he HATES Tennant with a passion. While watching that episode last night, during one scene (I died laughing when he said this) he made a comment along the lines of "Holy shit. It's like Mitch was half drunk while getting a tour around the BBC and just wondered on set! 'Oh hey, magic fireplace...oh wait a minute..YOU'RE LIKE 8! THIS IS AWESOME!' This is a mess @_@"
So obviously, it's going to be fun getting him through the Tennant bit >.>
But as for the new doctor...
While he looks kinda funky, I'm fucking in love with him. Tennant was fun with his goofy ways, but I have to agree with Matt, he doesn't explain anything. Eccleston would talk out the process and come up with a plan, it'd still be a bit goofy but none the less, awesome.
We caught a bit of the first episode with him in it while channel surfing and I have to say...The bit where he steps through the hologram and says "I'm the doctor...Basically...Run." I just about shit bricks. Got nothing major against Tennant, but the new doctor seems to have more lines in 20 minutes than he does in 3 episodes >.>
Sorry, I'm all for fun and games but I guess I've got a thing for the analytical nerd
But yeah, that was possibly one of the most glorious scenes I've ever seen in my life. Can't wait to work our way through seasons 2-4 of Doctor Who with a bit of Torchwood
.
Looks aside, I'm incredibly excited about this new doctor.
