Re: This Week In AMVs - Ep 11 Now Available
It'll less about lack of content and more about me being busy... There is really always something to talk about, just depends on how much time I have to find and research it beforehand. But really, you're the ones listening in. If I don't get feedback I can't tailor the show to match what you would like to hear. Without feedback the show will just basically be me talking about whatever I feel like, which I have no problem of doing as I have been doing it this whole time already, but I want to make sure my listeners are happy with what I talk about. I have some interesting topics and things I've been keeping a watch on over the last few weeks as well as developments on the editing front that are moving along that I will be getting to in the future, I don't plan to actually stop anytime soon.

I don't mean overall - just in the episode. Minutes of silence and people struggling to make conversation don't make for a good podcast.ngsilver wrote:It'll less about lack of content and more about me being busy... Yeah, that was all my fault. I don't do much talking in RL, and it shows on my interview. Sorry.

Re: This Week In AMVs - Ep 11 Now Available
Actually, I rushed through post on EP 11 which led to some interesting things making it into the final production that normally wouldn't have (such as the comment of 'hey, I'll remove this in post'.) I apologize for that. I rushed myself in order to get this episode out in a more timely manner considering I interviewed L-fist nearly a month ago.
Ep 10 is well... a journey into technical difficulties. There is actually quite a bit of stuff that was cut from that episode but in the end I wanted to make sure it was released at least WITH Ep 11 instead of after Ep 11. So in the end I gave up on trying to make it sound good in post and put it up as is.
Again, these errors are my fault. In light of the erratic release schedule over the last month or so I decided to let quality standards slide in order to bring things out in a more normal schedule. Hopefully once this month is over with I'll be able to dedicate more time to the show and produce a more proper sounding podcast then what the past few episodes have been able to produce.
Also, while creating the mp3's for ep 10 & 11 I noticed that it appears audacity does a horrible job creating mp3's with the lame codec. In the end it produces a very static y sounding recording. So I used a different program to encode the mp3 versions from the wav I produced in audacity and I hope these two episodes came out much better sounding. I plan to go back and check up on some of the previous episodes to see if I can pinpoint other's that have this same static in them and upload new mp3's of them. Even if only to allow new listeners to experience a better quality download. After all, I spent the money on a good microphone so I should be making sure the final product at least lives up to the quality.

Concerning the storyboard vs chaotic engine topic, there was another thread that talked about how editors plan/process their ideas for AMVs, this one I believe, and I think there was another one, but I can't seem to find it.

I've got alot to catch up on... you know your voice makes me think of commander data. now whenever I see a post by you I shall have the slightly distasteful thought of robot porn... and chobits
I'm only listening to ep8 right now but... boy was 6 just full of dead air lol never get fc on the dinosaur subject again :/ lol when it turns into just a recording of a skype chat that's when I'm like 'should I really be listening to this? (Why not just pull up a skype chat of myself)'.
Anyway you don't say anything about your website very much, you probably should mention that all links are there.

If you do not think so... you will DIE

Re: This Week In AMVs - Ep 11 Now Available
I'm working to lessen the amount of dead air both live and in the final release so it should only get better. Re-pacing the recording as it were takes some time. Ep 12 will be up as soon as I can get a moment to work on it as I am busy trying to meet a deadline that's taking up all my free time (no, it's not amv related either.)
I'm also working to make sure to mention the website at least once in each episode, though I don't think I've ever actually said the address on air yet. I probably should, especially when I say you can find links to what we talk about in the show notes. Though sadly I have not gotten the show notes done for ep's 9-11 yet, right now all they have are time codes for segments.
My deadline is in two days, so hopefully I'll be able to work on ep12 as well as the show notes for previous eps within the next week. Fingers crossed!
