Strange Artifacts

Post by Glitzer » Mon Mar 22, 2010 4:39 am

I once again call upon the help of those much smarter than me!

I have an original 720p mkv source that looks fabulous but once I put it as an avs script to import into premiere, I get all sorts of strange artifacts lasting usually only a frame.

Such as:

next frame

A few others:

I know for a fact something happens when it becomes a script because I took those screenshots from media player classic playing right off from the scripts. I use FFVideoSource to import the script into premiere, and I thought it worked like a charm until I noticed these little buggers. I also have used no filtering.

Thanks so much in advance!

Either A) the file is corrupted (I've seen artifacts like those - and worse than those, too -on files that had md5 errors) or B) the version of FFmpegSource2 you're using needs to be updated, as whatever the problem actually is might have been fixed. Honestly, to me it looks almost like the issues with --weightp 2 that popped up last year, but pre-2.0 versions of CoreAVC were the only ones to have issues with that feature, and FFmpegSource doesn't talk to any DirectShow or VFW filters anyway (save Haali's Media Splitter for splitting M2TS files, but that doesn't do any decoding), so CoreAVC couldn't cause that.

The newest official builds of FFMS2 can be found here:

Let me smother butter all over your naked body then we can make sweet monkey love.

That removed all those accursed artifacts. Can't thank you enough!
