This might be a case where you have to know the anime to understand what is going on, but I didn't see your theme very well. The miscarriage is just kind of assumed (There might not have been any fitting scenes in the anime, to be fair). I think the biggest problem to me is the song, it lacks emotion to me, so the video doesnt give me much emotional response.

Also, not that it has anything to do with the vid, but the banner uses fairly bright colors for a word with such bad connections as 'miscarriage'...kinda unfitting.

It wasn't something I personally enjoyed, but I can appreciate the overall message you were trying to get across.

The use of colors to portray emotion and give an overall "humanly feel" or attempt at giving a physical representation of emotion. That was really nice, and I found it to be something I haven't seen very often, or at least not something I've seen done well. And this was done pretty well. :D

I think my main distaste came from the anime itself, which isn't your fault. It's just my personal taste. Same with the song. Again, just my personal taste and nothing that's your fault.

I also think that the main issue comes from the concept. Emotionally speaking, it just didn't have the BAM POW to hit us in the emotional gut. Again, this personally comes from the audio and video sources. But I think you could have done more in terms of editing to help make it more emotional than it was. I'm not sure if the source would have allowed it, but perhaps another source would have done it better?

Overall, it was definitely above average, and kudos for trying to do something new and unique.

Even though I watched this from a totally different perspective from most of you guys (being a mom and all), I didn't feel much emotional impact from this. Most likely it's because I haven't seen the anime, and also because I kept overanalyzing things like, "A woman that pregnant can't run like that. Ever." Technically, if she is that far along in the pregnancy it's a stillbirth, not a miscarriage.

I did like the use of an orchestral instrumental. Need more of those on the org.

I kind of wished that the fades were smoother, but I still think this is rather good.

EvaFan wrote:I think a real life experience is effecting my thoughts on this amv (not a miscarriage exeperience, but a death shortly after birth though)... Honestly this fails in comparison to the overwhelming thoughts and sadness to a real miscarriage. I can't say if its cause the song just wasn't intense enough or cause the anime didn't have (or you didn't use any) scenes with intense sadness. But if you were really trying to portray the sadness that comes with something like this, this was nowhere near enough IMO. I did however manage to enjoy the downtempo atmosphere a bit. I'm just gonna guess the anime/song combo wasn't enough for a realism emotional effect if that's what you were going for, if it is possible then it was not done in this amv.

i tried to narrate the story in a metaphorical level, and i don't know other anime that i could have used instead this, thanks for the comment :)

If you didn't like this don't even try to watch Angel's Egg lol.
That's my thought on this video, it's about as 'good' as Angel's Egg.
If you do not think so... you will DIE
