Naqoyqatsi...Naqoyqatsi

Post by Zerophite » Sat Dec 07, 2002 6:16 pm

Ha! BigshotSpike! I beat you to it! I got the OST to Naqoyqatsi yesterday, and my god...it's quite possibly the most intense score I've ever heard. I recommend it to ANYONE. Philip Glass really redefined his minimalism in the past 20 to sound a whole lot better than it did in Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi. don't be afraid.

Well, after Xmas it'll immediately be me mine!
But Zerophite, whatever happened to your little promise to not buy an more CDs? :)

From what I've heard of several samples, I really like the soundtrack. The pieces have a very flowing nature to them, as is a tendency in Philip Glass's work. They tend to be less minimalist than those in the earlier Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi soundtracks, and somehow richer. Very sublime.

Heh, I didn't buy it. I got it from my sister.

Actually, Philip Glass is THE minimalist of our time. His stuff is very repetitious, but he did a lot of time signature altering in Naqoyqatsi. If you want to hear some of his other stuff, get Mad Rush, and the orchestrated Aphex Twin song...can't remember the name...also...WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? GET YOUR ASS ONLINE!
