The show wasn't as entertaining after Kamina died. It was still good, but it just wasn't the same old Gurren Lagann everyone knew and loved after he left the show. Same thing with Death Note, it was still good but just not as good after the best character died.

And Halo. Every time I hear "heretic" I can't help but think of it.
