Re: Help A Newbie Out :(
I tried both the IP addresses but neither of them worked. Also when i go to edit, the only options are Network configuration wizard and clear private data. I think the network configuration wizard is the same as setting but it doesn't say ftp anywhere.

Re: Help A Newbie Out :(
what are you doing to get asked for the IP address?
please list your steps starting with putting kero.animemusicvideos.org into the host field
(don't post your upload username or password)

Re: Help A Newbie Out :(
I started by entering the host, username, and password then pressed quickconnect but it said the connection had timed out and it couldn't connect to the server. So then i went to Edit>Network Configuration Wizard. The it showed the two options either passive or active and i chose passive. It also had a little check box that said allow fallback to other transfer mode on failure and i check that. Next it said i could either use the server's external IP address instead or fall back to active mode and i chose the first one. Next it gave me the options, Ask operating system for the external IP address, use the folling IP address (and it had a box were you were supose to type that in), or get external IP address from following URL: http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php, and it had a check box that said don't use external IP address on local connections and i checked that box. I've tried all three of those options but none of them work. Next it said Ask operating system for port or use the following port range: 6000-7000 and i also tried both but they didn't work.

Re: Help A Newbie Out :(
check "ask operating system for external IP address" and "ask operating system for port"
if asking the OS for the external IP doesn't work, then do the "use the following ip address" option and put in your own IP address
if that doesn't work, I'll have access to a mac tomorrow (or rather, later today...at least for me)

Are you sure you're using the Filezilla client and not the Filezilla server program? Your explanation sounds similar to shit I was going through to get a Filezilla server up and running.KamakuraNeko wrote:I started by entering the host, username, and password then pressed quickconnect but it said the connection had timed out and it couldn't connect to the server. Bashar: That crossed my mind too, but I don't think the server program has a host field or the quick connect button

Re: Help A Newbie Out :(
I use fireftp myself, but I don't see why there would be options for getting your own IP address in an FTP client. That's something you'd need if you were setting up a server, but it shouldn't even enter into the equation for getting a client to work correctly.Kariudo wrote:Bashar: That crossed my mind too, but I don't think the server program has a host field or the quick connect button

I don't really know if it's Filezilla client or Filezilla server program but client sounds more familiar. Also you wouldn't happen to know the answer to my third question would you?
