"Video Clip" in Vegas 7.0
I try importing these and they seem to..... uhh.... give me no footage. I am sure they worked before I restored my computer (Pretty sure). How do I go about getting Vegas to accept these files? I am expecting something so stupid for an answer, that I should just hit myself in the head with it too.

Are you using .avi files? If you are using .avi files, then are they encoded in Xvid or DivX?
If you are using some other video format, then I suggest using .avi instead. If you are using anything Xvid or DivX, then I suggest using Lagarith or HuffyYUV instead because they work better in Vegas and you will have better quality.

The file only says "Video Clip". I know back before the computer restore, I fixed them up with VDM. I try putting them into VDM now, and well.....VDM rejects them, and claims they can only do direct steam copies. I mean.....they WERE working before, but what happened, I don't know. x_x

Did you reinstall AMVApp and CCCP after you restored your computer?

Re: "Video Clip" in Vegas 7.0
I just did it. I still get this error.
[!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'WMV3' (unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
video.
Sorry about this in advance. My lack of making AMVs so often sort of makes me out of the loop with this stuff lately. ._.

If you have avisynth, you can make a quick script (just directshowsource("<path to vid here>.wmv") )
and that should work (replacing <path to vid here> with the appropriate path)
