How Come YouTube Links are suddenly allowed?

Post by guardiansoulblade » Thu Dec 24, 2009 11:19 am

I've known for quite a while that this site doesn't really like YouTube for obvious reasons, but I've noticed that YouTube links are suddenly able to go through, what's with that?

I guess, but now everyone's forgotten how to announce AMVs in the announcement thread, and the problem with it is there's always a strong possibility that YouTube will take down the video because of a DMCA by the anime company.

Well not everybody has forgotten how to announce AMVs, it's just the new members that didnt bother reading the rules.

Because 3 years later it has ceased to be relevant in any meaningful way other than to piss off new members and make things a hassle for the rest of us?

I for one applaud the decision to get rid of the word filter.

The announcement forum issue still kinda stands and it's worse now... oh, you locked the thread? so what? link's still there - the purpose is served. The mods never use the ban hammer (and new people that only post youtube links wouldn't be getting replies anyways) so there's really no incentive for these people to actually follow the rules on the announcement forum at all.

I kind of dislike how [ Are word filtered to youtube now.

I liked those words.

Can we wordfilter something else to b]B[/b]oochsack & Hosatchel?

My suggestion is a commonly used perjorative, and uhh "cheese"
