For the most part... I would just keep the state of mind "Less is more" cause if you give them a bunch of stuff to read and lots of links to other faq, there's no way in hell they are gonna go and actually read them all due to being overwhelmed... Especially since most just come to watch videos.

When new users create an account you could easily just have then select from 2 categories as to what they are going to do with it. 1=Plan to just watch amv's, 2=Become an AMV editor.

Option 2 would send them Both versions of your faq if they selected it. Besides if they changed their mind later on down the road they should be familiar enough with the org to find their own way to what they need by then.

Have you looked at the other responses in this thread yet? gt-dragon needs pointed to a faq on sig banners and, perhaps, one on uploading avatars. Pankyy apparently needs pointed to the thread about embedding. Oto linked to a resource I didn't even know existed and I've been around seven years now. So while it is a faq about faqs, it's also probably needed...
