Code of Honor for AMV maker
I think every AMV maker has some kind of Code of Honor. Some follow it, but subconsciously. Other think about it, but never write it down. The rest probably think about his/her code of honor and write it down, though I have never seen one. So, one rainy day I set down and wrote my own code of honor, which I do try to follow. Here it is:
Always make AMVs for art or enjoyment;
Never steal another's AMVs or ideas;
Be thankful;
Never be aggressive/hostile;
Always be objective;
Always be polite;
Answer every single question you are given;
Be opened for criticism and advices;
Never be conceited, selfish and megalomaniac;
Help everyone with anything you can, never refuse anyone to help;
Never envy another's skills and creativity(I mean bad kind of envy);
Never get angry for unfair criticism;
Rely on your skills, not on your software;
And most important - enjoy making AMVs.
So I want to know what do you think about it. Was writing it good or bad idea? Do you believe in such a concept as "code of honor for AMV makers" at all? Do you follow some kind of code? If you do, how is yours different? What would you change or add here? With what you agree and with what you disagree?
Note, that I do not want to intrude my believes upon you, I just want to know your opinion.
I would be very happy if you'd reply. Thanks for attention, bye.

I can count the number of people who follow these ones on one hand.Never be aggressive/hostile;
Always be objective;
Always be polite;
Answer every single question you are given;
Be opened for criticism and advices;
Never be conceited, selfish and megalomaniac;
Help everyone with anything you can, never refuse anyone to help;
So much so I thought the list was ironic at first.

I take it you don't work with annoying, undisciplined children much, do you?

I pretty much agree with your code except for a few minor things that I've crossed out below:
Always make AMVs for art or enjoyment;
Never steal another's AMVs or ideas;
Be thankful;
Never be aggressive/hostile;
Always be objective;
Always be polite;
Answer every single question you are given;
Be opened for criticism and advices;

Re: Code of Honor for AMV maker
Everyone? Never refuse? Seems too much pressure to me. After all, I'm only here for a hobby and if the usual mantra is to be repeated, I'm doing it for myself. No one else's development is my responsibility, only my own. It should be turned around instead as, "be respectful when asking for help".AikiNick102 wrote:Help everyone with anything you can, never refuse anyone to help;
