Why? this video is more about 3D animation then video editing.

I agree with you and to be honest 3d animation is not that appealing to me ( i definitely enjoy working with anime footage the most )
but rather than trying to find the proper anime scene and then synchronize it to the song ( applying effects, masking etg )
making the "right" scene seems quite interesting... + i liked the depth which anime music videos are definitely lacking.

But anyway i am not familiar with any 3d program and i am too old to learn one... so i still need to find a way to be satisfied through amv making :s

I wasn't all that impressed other then the animation. The tech and execution behind it is extremely simply, imo. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't in silhouette and the models were actually textured and lighted.
fixed
Yeah I would agree. It is a very simple method of execution. Not that that's a bad thing, but it leaves you with kind of a bland taste. If it were me and I had chosen the silhouette idea, I think I still would have tried to add more interest by using textures or colors or really differentiating the layers in the video somehow. Like think the EF opening, or the flat pretty colors and shapes used in Bakemonogatari. Matching colors to the characters that the silhouettes represent, for example, or having something happen with the "bad apple" as it goes through it's journey.

I was waaay more impressed with this:

which Niotex linked me this past week. I was blown away. The style, the animation, the colors, the story, the characters. Just freaking brilliant. I would love to see people make AMV's like this. (I'm going to, if I ever stop being lazy)

the no cuts transitions in both peices is what intrigues me most. Can't say which is better, but deffinitely impressed with the transitioning from scene to scene. Inthe first it's morphing from one shape to another, the second is some time elapsing thing :D I'd like to make an amv with no cuts.
If you do not think so... you will DIE

Just don't use fades, apparently that's a bad thing... :|
