Well... I'm not a huge fan of all the anime's that usually end up with thousands of amv's per day made for it... except bleach...
i don't think it's going to be a problem for me...

Re: in before person y?
I sometimes enjoy seeing different versions of certain anime and song combinations. I almost never think that any video is copying another, more popular iteration. Many people have different visions of how certain combinations should go together. Plus, a lot of these videos are actually edited in relative isolation from one another. And with the more popular anime and songs, you have these situations occur with more frequency. I don't think that 10 different versions of the same anime and song combo ended up on u-tube (or here) because each person after the first decided that they could do a better job than the previous attempt.
I'm kinda in this situation. There's a popular song and anime combo that no one here has done yet, but I've found one attempt on u-tube that was barely passable at best. It has some pacing issues, relatively poor image quality due to being what appears to be video that was acquired via some screen capture software, opening and ending sequences with credits were used, and a bit too many stock effects were applied.
Personally, I'm not in a rush to try to do my spin on the combo. If someone else does a video to the same sources and it meets a particular level of my standards, I may abandon my version and download theirs to keep.
And for most of the rest of my ideas, I doubt anyone else has thought of them due to either using less popular songs and/or less popular anime (or at least they are less popular now).
