No. I don't know of any con that would accept that. Convert it to a real video file that meets the specs laid out in the contest rules, and you'll be fine. The contest is going to be played from a DVD; so the less fussing around with it you leave up to me, the better.

Figured I'd poke my head in

We need comedy! And i'm not talking pathetic attempts at comedy like people who draw Gundam on cardboard boxes, or the latest generic series of Hell vids. Actual funny stuff that causes the audience to laugh so hard they miscarry. Surely there are some practitioners of the dark art of the lulz still out there? If so send any inquiries to myself or Bashar through the usual channels.

Yea - we really do need comedy. The category is pretty empty. Don't want to have to axe it.

That said, we do need entries in general - so feel free to submit anything that meets the rules if it suits your fancy.

as comedy? Are they supposed to? ... more importantly are they intended to? You can fail at comedy, but if the intent IS comedy, it's a comedy video.
