Has editing become more or less fun?

I am having less fun. I haven't created an "amv" in 2 years and probably won't make one anytime soon.
I like to edit every so often, but I really have no care for editing anymore.

I did start to have fun editing when I got my external back 2 months ago [edited a couple of things], but the adrenaline is gone now.

I was thinking about this tonight while I started a new project (that I most likely won't finish), and the thought was basically if I'm having more or less fun compared to when I first began. To be honest, I'm not completely sure myself; I feel like I have just as much fun, but I have less of it. While that doesn't really make sense, what I mean is that when I have fun, I have just as much fun as when I started, but those moments don't seem to come around as often as they did before.

I think that most of the time I have fun is when I can edit the project how I envisioned the song to work with the anime in my head, if that doesn't happen I'll just edit with that "eh" feeling to it.

So basically, are you having more or less fun compared to when you started editing and why?

I'm in a studio full of people who don't like to edit. :shifty:

I still like to edit, but for different reasons than when I started.

It's been a while since I did any new full videos, now it almost seems like a chore to do another one, it's like I have the ideas but just no motivation to actually sit down and edit them. Though I agree about projects/meps, those are still fun to edit for and they occasionally bring me back =P

It has become a lot less fun for me, but I still edit little things I want to finish but never get past 5 seconds.

It's not the work that's fun, it's the result. The trick is using that anticipation of the result to motivate you with excitement so the work seems masked by fun in your memory.

x2.... The editing process is tiring, stressful and sometimes you do not want to continue, but the funny thing is the result, when work is shared and others will enjoy, there's the fun! That I think!

For me it's only fun when the end product turns out:

• a.) the way I want it
  b.) better than I thought it would be.

otherwise it can be quite torturous

well ... the more you learn about editing the more complicated it becomes... I don't know if it's more fun or less fun ... but i do it less than i did, so I'm guessing less.
