Post by siragin » Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:03 pm

This will be the third of many AMV contest here at J Squared Graphics. And this contest has a theme to it, "The October Hollowen AMV Fest '09". Seeing that this is October and Hollowen is coming This would be a great chance to show the horror in most anime. Your goal in this contest is to use any type of anime you wish to create a :30s to 7min video. You will be able to start submitting your videos beginning October 8, 2009 through October 15, 2009. If you need an extention on the deadline you can ask, but it will depend on how much time you will need. All video submissions will be avaialable for viewing on October 16. Voting will start on October 23 through October 28, 2009. The overall video voting will be October 29 and 30, and awards will be given October 31, 2009. There will be five catagories for you to enter, ranging from action, drama, comedy, horror, action/adventure.

You can see the contest here.

If the theme is horror, does every video have to have a horror element to it? In other words, action/horror, drama/horror, comedy/horror, horror/horror, and action/adventure/horror? For that matter, why is action two categories?

No. I was thinking about doing that but it was decided that if that was done, it may draw people away from the contest. So I just made a horror catagory. But I would appreciate feed back on if the entire contest should have a horror theme or just a horror catagory. Mabe the winner of this contest could pick the theme for the next contest.

also action and action/adventure is two different catagories. Action is like an all around beatem up video, where as action adventure has a purpose and story to everything.

The dates for the contest have changes. Deadlines will be on the 23rd instead of the 15th. but be aware that videos will be avaialable for view on the 16th. so the earlier you submit your video the eaiser it will be for you to win a point in most viewed video for your category. Please check the website for more details.
