Final Fantasy 7: Anthem of the Angels (Breaking Benjamin)

Post by Dark Lord of Debate » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:06 am

The moment I first heard this song when it was released a week ago, this video demanded to be made. This is an AMV set to the song "Anthem of the Angels" from Breaking Benjamin's new CD "Dear Agony," and it uses footage from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and Advent Children Complete.

The video portrays Cloud mourning the loss of his mentor and brother in arms Zack Fair, and his struggles to overcome his grief and draw strength from the memory of Zack's courage to keep fighting no matter how great the odds. The lyrics of this song are absolutely perfect for the theme, and are especially fitting with the reoccurring "angel" motif present through the FF7 saga.

Please check it out and comment with any suggestions for improvement, etc. Enjoy! :D

I really liked the source combo and mood in this video. I could really feel the emotion in it. I had two major issues with this video. One was there was no impact in any of the parts of the song that had higher emotion. They seemed a tad under edited. Another thing was the order of the clips. When I saw the sephiroth fight, I really thought that i was at the end of the video, instead i found out that i was still in the middle of it.

The editing was nice but the scene selection sucked. Basically what Atari said: the fight with Sephy in the middle of the video was too early and should have really been at the end since the scene you used afterward didn't seem to fall into the time line correctly. Also the video as a whole seemed to tank when i got to that point. It didn't carry as much emotion. Other then that, I was surprised to see someone make video from Dear Agony (Breaking Benjamin is my favorite band and i've been listening the hell out of it for the last week) already not to mention a somewhat decently edited one at that.
