How close is too close to a ripoff?

I check the related videos on a really old AMV I uploaded about 2 years ago and I encounter this.

I know same song same anime is no big deal, especially when they fit so well together, but this is a bit more than that. In general just the way it starts exactly the same, the extremely similar cutting (cut here, black flashes here etc.), and what really nearly burst a blood vessel in my forehead was the exact same cut and clip at 2:02. It lasts for like 2 seconds but if you're going to tell me that's coincidental I'd have a bit of trouble believing you.

This just got me a bit angry... as you can probably tell by some of the less than cordial comments I left on the video. :sweat:

I know you guys sort of frown upon Youtube in these parts (for good reasons I know) but you can also search for both videos pretty easily on Youtube by just plugging in Ippo and the song.

There's not much you can do, or should even be concerned about doing. Either it is a freak coincidence, and you have no ground from which to complain, or it's not, and your ability to "punish" the other party is limited to getting friends to spam the account, which is silly anyhow.

Don't worry about it. Move on.

You shouldn't be angry over seeing that someone else did an AMV similar to yours, after all, it means they liked the video and probably took it as a model to follow. Even if they're claiming it to be theirs, they're even distributing your own AMV, so it's even better to you (I guess that any AMV you published was meant for public views).
Heck, my YT account got deleted time ago but I found some of my amv's on other people's account, and that made me go "wow" instead of angry :P

If you're cool enough, you can get awarded for ripping people off!
