Good night, sweet prince.
This'll leave only two remaining juggernauts in the industry. Bandai and Funi.

Re: ADV goes under
It's less a shutdown and more a reorganization under a different name, after that disastrous falling-out with Sojitz last year.

Hopefully the new company decides to keep using the ADV Films' name, considering the respect it garners from people like me.

The Mod should re-title this thread as ADV restructures, that's what they're doing. They'll still release DVDs and the properties they own, they'll just be doing it through another company.

Just another reason to support the idea that anime retail needs to start thinking outside of the box in a big way.
Otherwise it will only get worse.

You know, I think this can all be credited to FUNimation's attempted takeover of the world.
And I hope they're happy.

I think its' because they have their most popular franchise's price jacked up (Evangelion, that means YOU!) $80 for the box set. That's a lot even for ME.

More like they've released Eva 10 different times and by the time they found out everyone owned it 4 times, no one wanted to buy it anymore.guardiansoulblade wrote:I think its' because they have their most popular franchise's price jacked up (Evangelion, that means YOU!) $80 for the box set. Just to let you, Eva is not a franchise, it's just the same thing being retold over, over, and over again. How many times can you retell the same story?
