And how do you join one? Do you just say "hey, here's my videos, can I join your studio?"
So what's the deal with Studios?

So what's the deal with Studios?
I've won awards for my AMVs for AWA Expo contest and never had anything to put in the "Studio" form field
It makes me wonder what a "studio" really is, is it just a group of friends who decide to name their group?

That raises a question. There are loads of one man studios, and a small number of "serious" studios, that push their brand forward. You know, studios like RDS, CDVV, VNS, etc =P
How many of these studios are there?

some studios get known to be filled with really good ppl though, it's not JUST a name.... but in the begining it pretty much is.

My studio consists of a bunch of real life friends who I met during cons and online conversations. We try to help each other out and we do share our software, hardware and footage (dvds) if needed.
You don't only see them in amvs. Such studios are everywhere in fan made videos on the internet.

See, that's what I was wondering. It seems like a good way to reduce the costs by sharing DVD series, in addition to maybe teaching each other tricks of the trade.Bauzi wrote:My studio consists of a bunch of real life friends who I met during cons and online conversations. Re: So what's the deal with Studios?
Well when I started I worked together with my best friend and we're like a unit. However we "splitted up" years later and decided to reform into a group. We always shared our software, hardware and footage. Maybe even more than we do today so it was almost a natural thing to form our studio.
I don't think that a lot of studios share as much as we do. I guess most of the studios today share knowledge, webhosts and give away beta tests for other members.
