The Girl at the Video Game Store
ok everybody the brand new parry grip song as an amv
I had a REally fun time making this one and couldn't think of anyone else as a better fitting role for the song - i figured "digiko" could be "the Girl" since she works at gamers and that would fit - but everything else might have been hard to fit.. but i like how it turned out.
I hope you do to
Enjoy!

Re: The Girl at the Video Game Store
There are a few scenes that definitely could have been edited better, and the lip sync needs a little work, but watching this video was actually pretty fun. A few parts slightly contradict themselves, but overall, the idea behind this amv was good.
I give this amv a 3.3 out of 5.

Thanks - yeah . i'm still a noob at this video editing and 'm sure some parts could have been better - but i'm completely satisfied with it....except that i think it ended a little quickly....but i thought after they put the guy out again that there wasn't really anything else to add.
well i'm glad you liked it. if you have any tips on how i could get better or something that would be awesome..
anyway I'm Glad you enjoyed it.

Re: The Girl at the Video Game Store
If I had to give you any advice, It would be to use more clips and episodes. It seems that most of the clips that you used came from about 3-5 episodes of Lucky Star at most. There are so many scenes from lucky star that would've gone nicely with this amv.ranmaman wrote:Thanks - yeah . i'm still a noob at this video editing and 'm sure some parts could have been better - but i'm completely satisfied with it....except that i think it ended a little quickly....but i thought after they put the guy out again that there wasn't really anything else to add.

And also, if you are going to use multiple anime in your amv, distribute them more evenly. Lucky star took up over 80% of the video, and the other 2 anime were only put in for about 30 seconds. I actually think that the amv would have been just fine with just Lucky star and Lucky Star OVA clips, but I definitely see why you choose to put in Hayate the Combat Butler.

YEah i had originally thought of just using as many shows with clips of video game s i could - untill i remembered the guys who keeps trying to stalk konata to buy stuff and thought that would make total sense for him to be the one more or less singing the song.kireblue wrote:If I had to give you any advice, It would be to use more clips and episodes. the put hayate in there cause i couldn't think of another scene to put in its place for the "palying alone" and stuff and thought hayate fit that pretty well - also i though kuroi sensei fit the part pretty well too. and if you watch the original video by parry gripp you may see why i added Inukami where i did.
but yeah as much as there isn't alot of effects nor alot of shows - if you watched my other videos - i still feel this is one of my better ones as how i tried to match the song as much as i could.
anyways, thanks for the advice....anyone have any requests for a video i could possible try my hand at - it seems to take a while for me to actually get an idea on what to do

I have to say I enjoyed this video big time. Which is insane for me, since its 90% lucky star.
Really awesome shit.

Thanks! yeah i like lucky star alot since it's in proabaly 50% of my videos if not a little more but i got my one friend more obsessed with it than me....but yeah this is proably the video i had most fun making out of all the ones i've done so far just cause the song is so awesome and it fit Konata/lucky star the best out of anything i could think of. Though I did think of possibly using Digiko since she actually does work at a video game store.....
other than that i am completely happy with the end result and just hope people enjoy the video as much as i do......as i almost have to watch my version at least a couple times in a row a day just so i can eventually get bored of the song and get it outta my head

Re: The Girl at the Video Game Store
I must watch it because it's Parry Gripp oO
EDIT:
It's nice, but you really need to look at all the details and smaller flaws and work on it. There was one scene where I thought that there should be a scene change due to sync, but the rest were just a bunch of smaller flaws which can ruin the viewing experience. It's nice, but it really need more work in details.

.........like what? i'm always looking to improve but i think everything fit pretty well - maybe aside from the fact the video wasn't 100% only lucky star and the timing isn't exactly 100% either but i don't find aynthing really wrong with it - i have watched it probably over 50 times myself cause for some reason i'm obsessed with my own video...but if you can explain in detail what should be really changed to bother changing much...
only other think i could think on changing would be where it cut off for the credits but after putting the guy's fire out i couldn't really think of anything else to place there. though i'm stilla noob at making videos cause i don't know any cool effects like disco lights flashing and all that which could improve a few of my videos. but i'm over all satisfied with this end result but i'm open to any suggestions

Re: The Girl at the Video Game Store
That might be because your not too experienced. For now...
Don't think I pick on you, but you asked for the things that bugged me:
00:00
mpeg. Yeah ok it's one of your first vids, but take a look into the guids and move on to a much more effective codec/compression:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech3/
Yeah the guide is a lot of things to read, but it's more than worth it.
00:03
What's up with the cheesy shake, zoome, whatever fx? They just appear here for (I guess) syncing reasons, but without it would be the same good.
00:15
Lipsync could be tighter and more correct.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... psync.html
That goes for many places.
You seam to have sometimes too much lipsync going on. I sometimes miss the video game action. A more variety of animes could have been good.
01:50
That's not game action. That's singing again with bad lipsync.
02:00
Do you hear it out? There is oviously a change in the music. There must have been a scene change for the sake of syncing. The change comes to late.
02:20
eh... Yeah the scene just seams wrong. Some other scenes between this one wouldn't lead in such a misery.
02:47
With this scene alone you wouldn't need really need 02:20 wich looks chessy. You try to makes his fire smooth and stuff, but the rest seams shivering and... well just wrong. I don't think that you don't notice anything wrong with 02:20
This are all details wich do play a big part in the overall image of your amv.
