This ain't a free hobby - UPDATE
For those of us old enough, I made a thread a few years back and asked people to calculate how much their editing expenses came to. This entails anything you buy with the intent of using it for editing. (DVDs, Rigs, Monitors, CDs, etc. )
Last time I think i was around $2,000CDN. Since then I've gotten a new laptop, speakers, DVDs and a few CDs. It'd say I'm sitting at around $3,500 by now.
Be sure to list what currency you're talking about, as we're not all from the same country.

The compy and stuff is probably about $2000 USD. But I use it for everything, not just editing...
Anime would probably be at least $1000...give or take.
And in a short while I'll be getting a new editing system at about $1800, and switching to adobe so about $2800 total for the new stuff. Throw in any anime I'll buy in the coming months at about $200, for a new purchases total of $3000 USD. That would bring the grand total to about $6000 USD.
