first AMV on animemusicvideos
hey. so this is my 5th amv and because of the issues with certain popular streaming site I decided to give it a go here also.
the projects name is angel of claymore.
the anime is claymore and the music is angels from within temptation.
I'd sure like some hints, tips, things to improve on and things that are okay or just some comments with usefull information.

You can do this with the vidid rather than vidlink.
Since it seems like you want to improve, I'll bite. First, subs? Yeah, get rid of those. Also, more transitions because I don't see any. Due to lack of transitions, some of your clips don't mesh well together. I see an attempt to hit beats but not many at that. You need more beats since this is an action and seen change along with it. Also, it just looks like you took whatever clips you could from a few episodes that you had and threw them together.

problem with the subs however is that almost all my anime is with hardsubs and I have no idea how I can effectively remove those.(though I'm going to look more for dual audio anime if I start collecting a new series
and you're totally right about transitions. I rarely use them since I can't find the simple ones in sony vegas(cause most of the transitions I see in sony vegas seem so over the top and kind of unnatural to me). guess i'm going to have to look a bit harder lol.
about the beats you're also right. frankly I have another amv that hits the beats almost perfectly but I always drift away from it because of lyrics of a song. unless the lyrics of the song fit the story of the anime and amv I'm making I always have difficulties synching it( guess I'm going to have to practice that a bit more)
and about the last. well I don't know if you have seen the anime of claymore. but my amv is more of a certain story in the anime( actually more like the main story) but I get your point that to ppl who haven't seen it it's pretty random and that possibly my mind is playing tricks on me since I know what I want to show in my amv so I automaticly fill in the blanks that other ppl won't see or connect( hence the reason I ask vor comments, tips, etc)

Re: first AMV on animemusicvideos
Use DVDs
That ought to solve your subtitle issues. Else, crop or border, or creatively hide them. But yeah... DVDs...
Simple transitions... just... drag one scene over the other... cross transition is as simple as you'd get and you won't need whatever else Vegas offers. Actually, what's probably something you should take a look at is not just "effects transitions" but just a change in scene to start with. You don't need to use whatever Vegas have... as I said, cross fade will do, or hard cuts. Both are still transitions and they're what you need more of.
The other one, you're right, experience will help plan it out better when you want to mix both beat and lyrical syncing. Watch more stuff

Re: first AMV on animemusicvideos
If you want to get rid of hard subs, you will need to pan or zoom the video to the point where the subs are no longer visible. Sony Vegas actually makes this pretty easy to do. All you have to do is right click your clip when it is in your time line. Then, click "video pan/crop", and move the borders of the video till you cant see the subs anymore. But the problem with this it that you loose a significant portion of the video in the process. [Redacted]spitfiresoul wrote:thanks I appreciate the tips.Minimoto wrote:

Personally, if an AMV has subs in it I click the close button and move on.
