I have a hard time finishing anime's these days cause of serious plot drawbacks and originality though I do enjoy romance/drama's regardless. It's been a while since I've finished an anime entirely (well excluding toradora cause its in my 2 categories). Maybe this is just from watching so many of them I don't know. As for editing... Real life is getting in the way and even when I do have the time, motivation is quite lacking. Like zarx said, just enjoy amv's so there's no reason to really quit. If free time is allotted why not spend it watching/editing every now and then?

Actually I think anime/manga has been hurdling towards the otaku culture with animes that are just aimed at pleasing them instead of trying something original/unique these days. This may be because of the economy or something... Gotta sell what works right now I suppose. <= just my 2cents.

There is actually a lot of original content out there each season, it's just they aren't amazingly good, or popular.
the ones aimed at quick pleasing are always the popular ones.
