Five hundred? You've been hosed, Johnny. You've been hosed...

ANYway, as far as opinions go, it's easiest to get them if you enter your video into a convention or if you go into the Opinion Exchange forum. That way, you can get someone to download your video, watch it and give you their opinion.

Premiere... *Sigh* Make one, short video first. Use A/B track editing. Try to rip a DVD (see guide), and use that. Your main tool is the razor tool. You can get into effects later. Premiere is big, and complicated. Also, you'll find that if you right-click on the clip in question, you can change the in and out points (duration), how fast the clip plays (speed), and you can even razor that way. Just look through all of the menus, and post more specific questions here, or in the help forum, as you go.

^_^

Love, Angel
Technically, ye're both wrong...it comes out to around $550 for the software, taxes/S&H not added in. >points at the link below<

I don't know about you, but I can't spend that kind of money. I know there's the 30 day free trial...but a person could only churn out about 2 decent vids in that time...working all day and night, 24/7, without eating or taking a bathroom break.

Any suggestions for anything else that isn't quite so costly?

As for the costs, BUY SECOND HAND. Ebay is particularly nice.

You could use Virtual Dub, but Premiere is almost as good as it gets.

RichLather (was it you who said this?), I think that if someone can't understand the guides, then a book won't do them any more good. Like Chaos said, toggle with it a little bit, browse the menus, and ASK US SPECIFIC QUESTIONS! It doesn't matter if you think you'll be flamed, just ask it, because you'll get an answer.

Or you can get the Educational Version of Adobe Premiere 6.5 for $198.95 8)
(That is if you are a college student.)

Or as OhMyBelldandy009 stated above: "Ebay is particularly nice."

OMB9 - On the contrary, I think a book on the order of "Premiere for Dummies" would do quite well in explaining the program from the basest level, something that the guides assume you already know.

I don't have any problem with the guides, because I am fully experienced in video editing. Someone who's never done editing of any sort would probably benefit more from a book that covers all aspects of the program's operation, from capturing loading files to final output.

I agree with you completely. My point is that some people, like the person who asked for help, really need to be assisted by a person. I forget your name (sorry!!), but whoever that asked, if you need help, download MSN messanger, and we can do the computer sharing thing, so I can help you out.

Hi Khameleon808. Welcome. Hope you enjoy your time here at AnimeMusicVideos.org. And no problems about the CAPS, many of us are out of it ALL the time. I say something about the rest of your questions, but it seems like you're being well looked after. :D

bn.com: Adobe Premiere For Dummies

Or if you prefer Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 86-7916805
Adobe Premiere For Dummies reviews the basics of digital video and video editing including installing a video card and/or hooking up a digital camcorder to the computer as well as basic information on the world of digital video in general - frame rates, aspect ratios, time codes, and more.
This book helps the confused beginner by making sense out of all the video editing terms and jargon that fills the manual and the other picture/lesson books covering Premiere.
Adobe Premiere For Dummies covers the tools used for a typical video editing project including importing clips, editing clips, applying transitions, mixing in audio, adding superimpositions, creating titles and exporting files to various output sources.
Another good read is Adobe's Digital Video Primer:

See what I mean? This boy is SO nice to EVERYONE! I don't know how he does it! I still can't believe there is a "Premiere for Dummies," that's rich.
