Yes, it was sad when Refused broke up. The Shape of Punk to Come and Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent are awesome albums.moooooo wrote:If you're dad digs the noise conspiracy, tell him to DL some videos by Refused. That's Denis, the singer from (I)NC's old, and much better band. Refused is seriously one of the most important rock bands of our age. Definetly get him to check out some videos.OhMyBelldandy009 wrote:Eh, my stepdad just found out that you can download music videos off of Kazaa, and he has all of these Nirvana videos. And International Noise Consipiracy. He likes them, but I think they are a little to weird.

Nirvana
I used to love Nirvana. When I first got Nevermind I was a Junior in Highschool, and I really felt that the philosophy Kurt was expressing in his music was that life was fucked regardless of things, but you just push along regarless. Maybe he was saying that, maybe he wasn't saying that...I don't know. But after Kurt killed himself I lost respect for the man and his music...I was pretty dispondant over the whole thing as I was in the midst of life crisis and here was a guy I thought represented something important to me, and it turns out that he obviously didn't. I pondered over it all for about two days, then I took my Nirvana collection, broke the CDs and hucked them in the trash. I haven't purposefully listened to Nirvana since then.

I just hit 'quote' instead of scrolling up to hit 'reply,' but I forgot to delete your message. Sorry!Cardinal.jpg wrote:I fail to see the use for a quote there, it seemed like a different line of discussion from what I said.
International Noise Conspiracy are alright but since the sudden outburst of similar music I've stopped having an interest in them as they aren't that different anymore.

I once had a sort of liking for Nirvana, but the radio still overplays the most popular singles off of their CDs. I just got sick of them. Maybe I need an actual CD or theirs, so I can listen to the songs that aren't always played (those end up being the best most of the time, anyway). "You Know You're Right," off of their new best of CD, is really good. I guess I'm not sick of it yet
As for the Foo Fighters, I'm sort of a passing fan. Don't own any of their albums, but I know the lyrics to some of their songs
