Sinful Mindedness

Post by Darush » Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:05 pm

Here's a video which was completed for the UPCON AEX AMV Contest which was hosted in April.

Took me a little while to decide to upload but the deed is finally done. :P

It's a Action/Horror video using Kara no Kyoukai - The Garden of Sinners... Yes I'm not the first to make an AMV using this anime but this anime is still one of the least used... xD , although the amount of videos using it is growing

It's somewhat a Dark Themed AMV as this is the atmosphere of the anime itself. I used scenes from the actual EPICA music video in the AMV to add to the Dark feel..

Enjoy!

Hmm.. despite of the actual music video footage left in, I liked it. My main concern about this video is the aspect ratio which should've been 16:9. Otherwise, good job.

When I saw this on the NVotB list, I thought someone was making fun of Niotex. The description leads me to believe otherwise, but I'll get back to you after I watch it.

lolz - what was with the CG music players? :P

...oh, they're real. :?

Well, I liked the editing, but didn't like the real footage.

I forgot in the quick comment, the Aspect Ratio is busted. It should be 16:9.

Nice job. The static overlays got annoying after a while, but I still really enjoyed it.

H@!% Cr#$.... I didn't notice the Aspect Ratio issue.
I kept the resolution the same as the source footage which is 704x480.. I must have selected the wrong aspect ratio setting for the project and didn't pick up on this blunder.

Thank you for pointing it out to me. I'll be sure not to make this mistake again.
Thank's for your other points too... It really helps. :D

Glad you enjoyed the video...

I thought your concept was good but I just couldn't get into this video. For me, seeing the LA music video thrown in just really killed the mood you were setting up in the vid. It just looks jarring and wrong. Other than that I really didn't dig the overuse of brightness flashes, every once and awhile is good but on every beat it just seems like overkill. The static blood overlay also just looked bad to me and seemed to carry on for far to long. I think since your concept was good, and your sources definitely worked together it would have been better just to flesh out the story rather than go for the overlays and constant flash sync, but that's just my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback. ^_^
It'll definitely help me with future project as I'll know what to look out for. xD

I hope it was still nice to watch. 8-)

Good atmosphere. I didn't think the live action footage really detracted from it, but I don't think it added to it either.

The aspect issue isn't anything that running the video through MP4Box or MKVMerge and setting a 16:9 flag won't fix. At least it fixes the Kara no Kyoukai footage.
