Yoko Kanno? Seatbelts? Who?

Hey, I was watching the Cowboy Bebop movie this morning, and at the beginning song, where they play "Ask DNA" I wondered who it was by. I was thinking Yoko Kanno, but since she definetly isn't a man, I wanted to know who sang it. Was it the Seatbelts?

This is actually a good question, and I did a quick search on Google and came up with the name Raju Ramayya off of this site. Go down to the bottom where the albums are listed, select Ask DNA (One of the movie soundtracks) and is has his name listed by the song.

Yoko Kanno writes the music, and sometimes plays instruments, but I don't believe she sings. For example, two songs from the original series, Rain and Want it all Back, were most definitely written by Yoko Kanno, but they were sung by Steve Conte and Mai Yamane respectively.

Yep, that's it. "Ask DNA" is written by Yoko Kanno and performed by Seatbelts.

It's such a good song! I think it was used nicely in the movie, too. Like the beginning to the live action series, Mad About You.

According to the CD, AskDNA's vocals were performed by Raju Ramayya. The lyrics for AskDNA were written by Tim Jensen. Yoko Kanno composed the song.

yeah...I guess I've made some AMVs...or at least I call them that to make myself feel better about life considering the general hatred I feel eminating toward me every day.
