I just got an idea for a Clannad trailer. I'm gonna put my Haruhi AMV on hold before I lose momentum on this one. Exams are coming up but I almost don't care right now.

Close... not quite.

I'd like something in a higher octave. Now that I think about it, it could be a male singer or a female singer, that part doesn't matter anymore, and even if the vocals aren't particularly soft that's ok, try me, it might be what I want.

I'm more concerned about the lyrics and the instrumentals

Lyrics should be sentimental but not too sentimental, I don't want an emo song or some ultra depressing song.

well if you're looking for a male singer I'd go with Keane or Vertical Horizon. Keane especially sings soft music that reaches a climax with a keyboard. Coldplay has you covered with all the mixing of sounds and climaxes, as well as sentimental lyrics. Death Cab For Cutie has one song called " I Will Follow You Into The Dark"...I'm just typing up any ideas that kinda meet up with what your looking for. Lemme see...I would say Evenescence but the Org doesn't allow those anymore. Um..The Used has two songs, "Smother Me" and "I caught Fire (In Your Eyes)". Hillary Duff has those sentimental lyrics, but i don't think that's quite right for Clannad. Lisa Loeb is a good pick for a soft female voice, Metro Station...Miley Cyrus definetly. Sick Puppies have a few soft songs...Snow Patrol...Taylor Swift's "Love Story" Would be absolutely beautiful to Clannad...ohhh...I'd love to see that! I can imagine it now...aww...beautiful...just beautiful. ah, sorry, got distracted. okay, more artists, The Fray...The Main Drag has a song called "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter"...Vanessa Carlton's "White Houses" might be good, I'm not sure if it would be good for what you're looking for...It has lyrics that would go with Clannad's story Line...oh! Yellowcard's song "Only One" acoustic....Jason Mraz's I'm Yours....Dashboard Confessional...oww...my brain hurts...I hope I'm on the right track....I'm graduating tomarrow so i gotta get up early then I'll have a lot of free time in the afternoon to keep finding songs if i'm totally off track.
