Re: Katawa Shoujo (Visual Novel)
well the "about" page on the home site just says its a school for disabled children no real incentive for physical ones only. Besides Hanako would be borderlining that rule if it were.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Re: Katawa Shoujo (Visual Novel)
I think I seen it in their forums somewhere but I'm having trouble finding it again, so I may be wrong. Even so, I think just as the blind has their own class, I think the mentally broken would have their own, depending how bad it is. Or something like that anyways.

Re: Katawa Shoujo (Visual Novel)
If you look at Misha, she doesn't seem to have any physical disabilities, but simply to have trouble enunciating some words. Perhaps a mental disability of a sort?8bit_samurai wrote:If I recall correctly, the school's for the physically disabled. So unless their physical disability caused a broken mind, there won't be anybody there with a broken mind. Unless Hisao somehow manages to break someone's mind while he's there.

Well it's a school for broken people without broken minds. I'm pretty sure Misha has something else swrong with her. Probably a heart problem, intestinal problems, or something like that. Sort of like Hisao. In Rin's words "On the inside".jadecavy wrote:If you look at Misha, she doesn't seem to have any physical disabilities, but simply to have trouble enunciating some words. Well, a mental disability doesn't necessarily mean a broken mind...

Re: Katawa Shoujo (Visual Novel)
I never said it did. But Misha couldn't have a mental disability. She has to interpret everything that Shizune signs and sign everything everybody else says.jadecavy wrote:Well, a mental disability doesn't necessarily mean a broken mind...

A mental disability does not always hinder the ability to think in a way that would prevent such interpretation.hasteroth wrote:I never said it did. But Misha couldn't have a mental disability. Re: Katawa Shoujo (Visual Novel)
Her enunciation doesn't matter. It's just the way she is. It comes with the whole heavy workload thing. And having to interpret everything.jadecavy wrote:A mental disability does not always hinder the ability to think in a way that would prevent such interpretation.hasteroth wrote:I never said it did.
Misha has COLD: Compulsively Obsessive Loudness Disorder. She has a nigh-uncontrollable urge to be loud, and she's learned to turn it into laughter, but it's at the level where she can't function normally. They paired her with Shizune because Misha can be as loud as she wants and it won't bother Shizune a bit. Same way they paired Emi with Rin to get a complete set of limbs between them. And Hanako with Lilly because one girl has horrible problems with being around people because she thinks they're all thinking about how ugly she is, but can feel safe with someone who doesn't see those "ugly" (that is, highly attractive) burns.
