Editors of 30 years old are considered old for the industry?

In my case this hobby is like a second job, I retreat when 65 years old or more, when I am old ... and has no new ideas in the mind!

Same with the anime, I will not fail to see anime in my life let it happen to me, the anime I opened many doors, I opened my mind, educate me, entertain me. Do not think having children, but think having a job related to video editing, to continue in the world of AMVs, I continue to express my ideas!

See you in 40 years!

I can't say I'm one to judge the current quality of videos anymore since I barely watch anything. I guess it's fair to accept the current trend (whatever it is) of amvs and just make whatever you want. At least you can take some comfort in knowing that tastes are always different and it's not always the most effects heavy videos that captivates audiences anymore.

It's time for the younger generation to take charge now.

Back when I started, masking and motion effects were barely taking off and while I followed the trend, I was able to put my own spin on it. If I didn't follow the trend, then I wouldn't have learned ALOT of the effects and skills that I use in both my amvs and professional work. I'm not exactly saying to follow the current trends to a t, but in reality, if audiences are eating up the trend, it must be doing something right.

Try not to see it as a way of conforming to the masses, but as a learning experience to maybe even enhance your own style.

Caster, I totally see where you are coming from, and I feel much the same way. Things just aren't the same as they were when I started out. But it's not the community that's changed, its me who's changed. A lot of the people I knew back then just aren't around anymore. In some ways it feels like the soul of the community is gone, like there is no one interesting here anymore, like I am nearly alone.
But it's my own fault. There are a ton of interesting people here now. I just don't know them. I haven't made an effort to know them. I haven't made an effort to stay involved. This used to be really important to me, but now, not so much. It's me who has changed.

[clannad]Anpan! Do you like this school? I really, really love it. But nothing can stay unchanged. Fun things... Happy things... They can't all possibly stay unchanged. Even so, can you keep on loving this place?

Just find them. Just find new fun and happy things. C'mon, let's get going.[/clannad]

Or something like that?

I should watch less anime, it seems...

I guess that applies to me as well. With all these new people in the community, I still tend to cling on to the ones I know. Although I do like meeting new editors.

One good thing about running the VG Projects or any MEP in general is meeting and working with new talent.
