garbage data in huffyuv exports in vegas:(
well this hasnt given me too much trouble till recently. but now its just getting out of hand. whenever i render a file in my vegas 8 pro, it comes out with all of these rainbow waves across my screen from time to time throughout my video. i heard its because i edit with huffyuv and its because the program gets confused and tries to export in rgb and yuv at the same time. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT??? a&e's guide said to turn on an option to forcibly recompress but i cant find that option anywhere in my vegas:(
i even tried using a debugmode frameserver but i couldnt figure that out if my life depended on it:( i got as far as downloading it and the instructions it came with were horrible. so i couldnt figure it out. PLEASE HELP!!! im basically at a standstill rite now, so please help. it would be amazingly appreciated:) either with installing and getting a debugmode framserver to work, or most preferably to get rid of the garbage data.

Re: garbage data in huffyuv exports in vegas:(
you mean render my vid in vegas with uncompressed codec? i tried that but it didnt work:( but it even shows the rainbow waves in the preview box in vegas. its not on the video file if i play it in a player b4 i import it to use in vegas... just when it goes into vegas. it mostly appears around complicated sections like when i mask and stuff. it looks like this:Zarxrax wrote:Just try uncompressed.

thats a screen shot of a frame after i render it from vegas. that shows up at random places at random times. so it doesnt show in the original files, just when i put it in vegas, then it shows in vegas' preview window, and when i export it.
btw, if the image doesnt show up above then heres a link to it

btw, i think i should mention that i edit with huffyuv footage since i clean my footage before editing of course. that mite be the cause of the rainbow waves in the first place, maybe but im not sure. so how to get rid of them?

You say you tried uncompressed and it didn't work, what do you mean? What didn't work?

Re: garbage data in huffyuv exports in vegas:(
as in, i rendered out my video out of vegas with the uncompressed codec, and it still came out with all the rainbow waves. actually, that screen shot in my other comment was from my uncompressed render. thats what the final render looks like in uncompressed, huffyuv and any codec i use to render from vegas. its not there in the original footage, so i assume its vegas' fault since it cant read it rite or something. i think cuz it cant read huffyuv rite or something since i make all my footage huffyuv then edit with that. btw, i only use dvd sources then encode it. the usual. so id think many people mite have that problem since thats the way most people do it rite? rip, vob to mpeg, clean and encode to huffyuv, edit, export in huff, compress to mp4.Zarxrax wrote:You say you tried uncompressed and it didn't work, what do you mean? could the problem be an outdated computer? cuz mine is only a 1gig, single core with i forget how much ghz, stock video card. but i built it 3.5 years ago.

Re: garbage data in huffyuv exports in vegas:(
nope. that didnt work either:( but im thinking, the problem is most likely that vegas is getting confused with huffyuv's rgb and yuv properties rite? then that would mean rendering my final video in just rgb wouldn't help since the footage i edited with is what its getting confused with and thats already in rgb/yuv. so that would mean to prevent this i would have to re-encode all my huffyuv footage in jalways suggest rgb from now on rite? then in theory that would solve the problem. vegas should have nothing to get confused about in the first place.
also, at the end of my script when i encode my dvd footage, i use converttorgb(), but would it make a difference than if i just "always suggest rgb"? that way if i edit rgb, then i mite as well make it just rgb rite? would it mess with when i distribute encode it? or enter in cons? what do you think about this? or do you have another suggestion?
*sigh* seems like i just cant find a thread here of someone with the same problem:( thats weird. i would think this happens to alot of people.
plus, i wish i could kno whats wrong so i dont have to do things differently than everyone else. I FAIL AT LIFE!!!!

Well the 'always suggest rgb' box doesn't do anything when encoding, only when decoding.
And honestly I don't know what else could be wrong. I have never seen a rainbow colors problem that looks quite like the one you have there. Are you sure you haven't got some special effect in vegas doing it?
