I wasn't cracking a joke; I was merely responding to his own lack of humor.

As for inserting images, take the URL of the picture you want (except if it's on Geocities, Angelfire, or some other hosts that don't allow remote linking) and enclose it with the [img] tags. You can even paste it into your message body, highlight it, and then click the "Img" box above it. Should automatically insert the tags.
