AX isn't providing an FTP server this year due to the significant difficulties we had with it last year.Dragon/Roy wrote:sent a request for ftp , and never got a reply back
"2b. Contact the Anime Music Video Contest Directors if you wish to submit your video(s) via FTP
upload or Online Delivery. Contest entrants wishing to use FTP/Online delivery solutions must
provide the link to their video using a service such as YouSendIt, MegaUpload, Rapidshare or
other service of the entrant’s preference.
Please note: Anime Expo, The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation and or the
Anime Music Video Contest Directors will not be providing an FTP URL option or site due to the
multiple technical issues and previous unreliability of this option."
Unfortunately I did not receive the email you sent to the AMV address. there have been some issues with the email server but those have been addressed by IT and if you resend it I will get it now.

Re: Anime Expo Anime Music Video Contest 2009 now open!
as general FYI.
Unfortunately due to personal reasons, Anneke has elected to take a break from all things AX this year. Also unfortunately, this includes the AMV contest. I hope she will return in the future as I really appreciate her input and assistance on the contest. I promise I will do all in my power to still bring you all a kickass contest.
This decision was made several weeks ago and I have been waiting for her permission as well as trying to find the best way to let you all know. Finally I figured F'it. I am telling you all direct.

I'll be providing links this weekend or early next week for my videos.
Too bad about Anneke, I hope things get better for her.

This is how I see things:
A bad AMV makes it look easy
A good AMV makes it look fun
A great AMV makes it look hard
However, the best AMVs make it look impossible

Re: Anime Expo Anime Music Video Contest 2009 now open!
After 3 years of entry i still have a n00b question...required to follow NTSC Standard of
720 by 480 pixels resolution at 29.97 frames per second interlaced or 720x480 pixels resolution
at 24 frames per second progressive. Videos submitted in 24fps will be converted to 29.97fps.
The 3/2 pull down conversion (to make 24fps video NTSC compliant for presentation) may cause
entry video to appear jittery in fast action scenes.
So does that mean if I'm submitting Huffy avi in progressive at 24 fps, it would be converted to 29.97?
If that's the case should I output in 29.97 fps to begin with then....?
thanks..!

Sending today, as overnight mail, just in case. I don't care if I spend the little extra money, I just want it to get there safely and on time. XD
