I think the noob means he/she wants a good editing program, let me tell you, it's not Windows Movie Maker.

You all are getting side tracked, @ kwaminax you can use virtualdub which most people here use, you can download it along with other different useful softwareand codecs when you download the amvapp. Although Zarx recently updated his zarxgui, I dont know if the amvapp is alos updated with it.

If you're talking programs here then... Sony Vegas is a relatively popular one. Also the Adobe series has been used to make many breathtaking AMVs; like Koopskeva for example. Particle Illusions is a good one for after effects and the whatnot...
