Magix won't show past 5:10
I downloaded the trial for Magix Movie Edit Pro, but I can't get a movie to show past 5:10 on the timeline. If I cut up the clip and move the part past it back, it shows up. Essentially, I could do this... But it would get very annoying and tedious. Is there a way to extend the time it shows to?

have you tried zooming in the timeline? When I go to max zoom it goes up to like 5 hours. And if you drop an entire episode on the timeline it should adjust to the length of the episode. Is it cutting it off or not letting you import anything over the size? But really if it's not letting you zoom in than I think there's probably something wrong with it...

Re: Magix won't show past 5:10
The timeline itself shows the whole movie, but I mean that when it goes past 5:10, the PREVIEW goes black. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I tried to make sure the file played correctly in VLC.

Re: Magix won't show past 5:10
If it's over a certain file size (200mb if I remember correctly) it won't show past a certain spot in the timeline, so I believe 5:10 and over passes that 200mb limit. Would have make a bunch of <200mb clips. This is assuming the limit is 200mb, I can't really remember since it's been awhile since I made clips for editing.

Re: Magix won't show past 5:10
.. with Magix, you are not limited to video "visual after five minutes" -- nor are there any
settings ( other than Export Out ) which would limit the amount of time clips can be displayed
on the screen
. somethings .. not right with your "Windows XP" settings. if the "Swap-Files" size has to
limit a video like you are describing it, your settings would
have to be in "Manual" which I know can not happen "in XP!"
have you tried to give your computer at least 2 gig of RAM to work with?

I've used much bigger files in the past and never had any problem like that.8bit_samurai wrote:If it's over a certain file size (200mb if I remember correctly) it won't show past a certain spot in the timeline, so I believe 5:10 and over passes that 200mb limit. Re: Magix won't show past 5:10
Just double checked, and the preview blacked out after 2gigs (checked with the time it blacked out on Magix and checked out the size on that time in VdubMod, which was exactly 2gigs actually), and not 200mb. Magix 12 and 1 gig RAM here. Though it isn't really an issue for me, considering I mostly edited with FFVII and FFVIII, which when ripped, the FMVs were (mostly) under 2gigs, and when I ripped Paranoia Agent, I worked around it by making <2gig clips.Kanti13 wrote:I've used much bigger files in the past and never had any problem like that.8bit_samurai wrote:If it's over a certain file size (200mb if I remember correctly) it won't show past a certain spot in the timeline, so I believe 5:10 and over passes that 200mb limit.
