m2v problem

Hi! I want to open my m2v files into vegas 8 but it just won't work.
Any suggestions on what to do?

Index them with DVD2AVI/DGIndex, then serve the indexed files with AVISynth, then either cut clips or serve the scripts to Vegas via VFAPI or makeAVIs.
