More edit buttons?

Post by Vax » Wed Mar 18, 2009 8:11 pm

I know it can be done. So why not?

Because!
I love to wear absurd and totally impractical garments. What's more, I derive great pleasure from spending time with women for no apparent reason.
I'm just that kind of person. - Sousuke Sagara

Which forums have them right now, and which don't?

I'm not really sure.
That do:
AMV Announcements
Muti-Editor Projects
AMV Contests
I think there's a subforum in the Video forum.

That don't:
Everything else.

Somebody add to my list if I'm missing something.

Because doing it this way forces you to think about what you're saying before you hit "Submit".

Actually, IIRC, it's an accountability thing. You say something stupid or start shit you own that mistake and don't try to weasel your way out of it.

All of the above.

So think about whether you really want that post preserved for all of time before you hit "submit".

How about a time-limit edit button? Like, say, one that is there only for 15 mins after posting? For some reason, even if I double check the preview, I tend to notice some grammar/spelling errors only after reading the post once submitted...

There's a workaround here if you don't want your post preserved. Be vulgar, crude, and insulting. The mods will eventually remove your post, but usually not before your target reads it. Now granted it goes to a hidden forum where it is preserved but for all intents and purposes it means you can actually get your post removed rather than being in public view 'for all of time'.

I'd rather see accountability than grammar. In any case, just improve your grammar. Eventually you'll be good enough that your mistakes will be scarce.
