This quarter, AMVs have come up twice. Once in my animation class, when discussing frame rates, my teacher claimed that he couldn't see a difference between 30 and 60 fps. So I showed him Auriga at both frame rates and so:

It has been posted on the course site for all the students to download and view for themselves. (Note: this page is specifically for students taking the course, you will not be able to get in)
The second time was during my "Ethics in Gaming and Cinema" class, in which remixing and fair use was brought up. At the front of the remixing topic is AMVs:

While the entire thing is about copyright and other stuff, my professor skipped straight to 16:38 which is where they start talking about remixing and just about minute after AMVs. Unfortunately, we were nearing the end of class and so we didn't get to have much of a discussion on it, but I do plan on sending my ethics professor a full AMV, probably The Making of Auriga, for reference and tell him a little about AMV making.
It's always cool to see stuff like this pop up.
