mk i can accept that for now.DigitalPanther wrote:To answer Rider's Idol question, It hasn't been settled exactly when Idol will be but tentatively it is looking to be on the same day as AMVs in the afternoon with AMVs endcapping the day. However, things can, and often do, change. So don't take that as gospel.

So, what containers can I put that H.264 video in? Ogg Media? Matroska?DigitalPanther wrote:Accepted Video
Codec(s)/Format: You may upload your entry data as:
DVD
HuffYUV
Mpeg2
DV
H.264
Do you have a preference concerning field order?DigitalPanther wrote:Note: All digital video formats submitted to the contest are required to follow NTSC Standard of
720 by 480 pixels resolution at 29.97 frames per second interlaced
That also includes 23.976 fps, right?DigitalPanther wrote:or 720x480 pixels resolution

Avi Preffered, Mov acceptedScintilla wrote: So, what containers can I put that H.264 video in? Ogg Media? Matroska?
Its my understanding that lower is usually standard on most NTSC systems. Honestly Progressive is really prefered but if you are sending Interlaced go with lower order please.Scintilla wrote: Do you have a preference concerning field order?
Kinda nitpicky isn't it?Scintilla wrote: That also includes 23.976 fps, right?
Standared 24fps, (which is 23.976 if i recall)
just like NTSC 30 is actually 29.97 if I recall.
don't have my cheatsheet infront of me.
Most editors handle this automatically so just selecting NTSC and your prefered framrate should be fine.

Do you accept MP4?

The proffered formats are listed pretty clearly in the rules.Kazemon15 wrote:Do you accept MP4?
If you wish to submit on MP4 be aware that it will be going into Premiere Pro CS3 before going to DVD (Mpeg2). So depending on your compression settings artifacting may occur.
If you wish to submit in a format other than those listed you are welcome to do so however we will offer no guaranty that their quality won't alter in this process.
So deviate from the supplied list at your own risk.

What was the format you uploaded last year Rider?Rider4Z wrote:ewi was all ready to upload my mp4s too... thanks for asking that kaze
That format should work fine. After doing a bit more research I am pretty sure PPro handles mp4 natively. I will need to verify it directly here soon and get you a better answer.
Sorry for the confusion.

See its questions like this that help us adjust the rules each year.
