6 weeks to go for mail-in submissions (7 weeks for FTP).

By the way, did you happen to see that the convention this year is being held in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center? What this means for the AMV Contest is that there will be larger capacity rooms than ever before to show off your videos to a potentially large audience, both in the dedicated AMV room that is returning this year and in the Main Events area for the contest showing.

Keep an eye out here as I will work to give you more details in the weeks to come.

Only one entry for me this time (comedy), and it's the shortest video I've ever made. It's been doing okay at the cons I've been to so far, but no wins yet...

We're coming down to the wire on our contests. Even though we are giving an extra week for FTP submissions, you have to e-mail your indication to submit by the mail-in deadline, the 18th. FTP submitters will have one week after the deadline (February 25th) to get their videos uploaded.

Please note that we are running three contests at Tekko -- the main AMV contest and two rated adult contests for R and NC-17 videos. If you would like to submit a video for the latter contests, please e-mail the submission form with the category as "R" or "NC-17". The mature contests are separately judged and are awarded separate prizes from the main contest.

We do look forward for everyone’s entries and will also be playing all the accepted entries into the contest on Sunday in the AMV room. The Room has theatre style very comfy seats so evey video will be played to an audiance.

Now that we are nearing the deadline, here's a few things to share about the contest:

- Right now, we have 11 videos. We need lots more. So, keep in touch with me if you are making a video and let me know by e-mail (amvcontest@tekkoshocon.com) or PM if you have any questions about the contest or need some general technical advice for your videos. Don't be afraid to ask, I'm here to help.

- This year, for the first time in the history of Tekko's contest, we will have physical awards to give out on top of the usual prizes. More on that later.

- Even if you think that you may not finish any video submissions you're working on before the February 18th Mail / FTP Reservation deadline, drop me a line so I can still reserve you an FTP account. Please note that you have until February 25th to upload your video to FTP, so don't be afraid to reserve your FTP account early.
